RCOE Sports Medicine 1
Description: Students have the opportunity to prepare for jobs such as fitness/exercise assistant, physical therapy aide, or athletic trainer assistant. This course will provide overview of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and the causes, symptoms, and management of common athletic injuries. Students will acquire practical hands-on experience in the recognition and assessment, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries to the head and spine, upper extremities, chest and abdomen, the pelvis, and lower extremities

 

RCOE Advanced Sports Medicine

Prerequisite: Sports Medicine 1
Description In this course, students will develop skills as a physical therapy aide, athletic trainer assistant, fitness instructor, medical, and sports equipment salesperson. The students have been trained at community locations to practice and develop the skills they have learned in the classroom.

 

*RCOE Sports Fitness Lab

Prerequisite: Sports Medicine 1 and Advanced Sports Medicine (or concurrently enrolled)

Description: Extended time and credit in ROP Sports Medicine and Therapeutic Services. This course may be taken concurrently with ROP Advanced Sports Medicine.
